Ahead of the deadline for the submission of nomination forms by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairmanship aspirants which ends yesterday, the Acting National Secretary of the party Musa Babayo, former Minister of Agriculture Adamu Bello, former FCT Minister Ibrahim Bunu Sherriff among others turned in their forms Friday.
However, former Oyo State governor Resheed Ladoja has failed to obtain a waiver from the party to contest for the office of the National Secretary in the national convention which will take place on the 24th of March.
Former Minister of Defence Shettima Mustafa, PDP National Publicity Secretary Ahmed Rufai Alkali, former Presidential Adviser on National Matters Abba Aji and former Minister of Commerce and Nigeria’s Ambassador to Pakistan Idris Waziri also beat the deadline.
PDP National Legal Adviser Olusola Oke and prominent leader Oladimeji Fabiyi who are in the race for the position of national secretary also submitted their nomination forms.
This is in effect as governors from the North-east zone and stakeholders of the party in the area are expected to meet this weekend to attempts at pruning down the list of chairmanship aspirants from the zone.
